The trio headed for their last class: Potions. Draco Malfoy was sitting by himself that day, the others as far away from him as possible. They looked at him and sneered angrily. 'Now I know how Potter feels.' Draco grumbled. He pulled out a crumpled up piece of paper, read it over once or twice, then put it back in his bag. 'Oh no.' Harry, Ron, and Hermione sulked into the dungeon classroom. Harry and Ron took one look at the two empty seats, then at the empty seat next to Draco. They ran for the two seats, leaving Hermione alone. 'Oh you guys!' Hermione whined. She glanced at Draco. She noticed he had been staring at her with a strange look on his face. He caught her glance and looked down at his blank sheet of parchment. He dipped his quill into his ink and started writing furiously. Hermione groaned, and sat down next to him. They were both blushing slightly. 'Everyone settle down, and prepare to make the most difficult potion there is. Now that you all are in your 7th and final year, I believe you finally are all smart enough to make it.' Professor Severus Snape said in a harsh voice. Hermione scowled. 'What are you so angry about?' Draco whispered to her. 'Its - Nothing.' she answered. 'What are you so angry about?' She didn't whisper as harsh as Draco, even though she meant to. 'I'm not angry.' This time Draco didn't even bother to sound mean. He sounded a bit upset, like he had lost someone dear to him. 'What's wrong?' Hermione whispered. She moved closer so she could hear his reply. 'Nothing's wrong now can you move over? People are looking.' Draco tried to push her away. 'C'mon Draco, I know there must be something wrong.' Hermione insisted. Snape, meanwhile, was telling the rest of the class about that day's potion. 'There's nothing wrong and don't call me Draco!' he said, his voice rising. Snape stopped, and faced the two. 'Well well. What do we have here? Malfoy and Granger, an unexpected couple indeed. You haven't been paying attention I can see the confused look on you face Granger. For once. You two will have lots of time to chat about your nicknames in detention. 6:00 to 9:00 tonight. You will be cleaning out the potion jars and cauldrons. Now pay attention. Oh and by the way, 50 points shall be taken from your Houses.' Snape sneered. He continued on with the class as Hermione and Draco grumbled to themselves. 'I guess it turned out to be a bad day after all.' Hermione thought angrily. She looked to Draco. He was holding a crumpled up piece of parchment. The words: 'Dear Hermi -' were showing. Hermione looked up quickly, trying to forget what she saw. She quickly started on her potion.
