Baguette | there is no D in my name | TRAITORclaw | Queenie of Narnia Tristan did notice her lean in, while he...was sort of frozen. He didn't lean in, but he didn't lean away either. Because now that the idea of kissing had been brought up, he couldn't stop thinking about it. Was she expecting it to happen now, or...? But she was talking, so maybe...maybe not??
He had a fleeting thought about asking what spots she had noticed because he very much had not taken notice of any places like that - was he really that oblivious? - but fortunately for himself he couldn't quite form the words. Instead he replied, "Oh, yeah, me too," in response to being easy to please. Which he wasn't sure was a good response, but- well, it was true, he supposed. He was no expert in all this, so he had no reason to be strict about how things should proceed. He was...going with the flow essentially. Easy to please. Yeah.
And...Merlin. Merlin. His brows rose a little at the idea of a professor catching them kissing. "N- No, we wouldn't want that." The very thought of anyone catching him, let alone a professor, was mortifying beyond belief, and just thinking about it made Tristan wish for the earth to swallow him up never to be seen again.
He did note the contact of her shoe against his leg, but he was rescued from dwelling on it when she mentioned the drink. "I'll order them for us," he offered, maybe a little too quickly. It seemed like the gentlemanly thing to do, but it was also a relief to have something he could do besides sit frozen like a statue on fire.
...The metaphor made sense in his head.
But as for whether to stay or get them to go? "Perhaps...a walk around the village would be nice?" he said as he got to his feet. They had admittedly only just sat down, but the more he sat there, the more out-of-his-element he felt. And it suddenly felt very public too, even if it was unlikely any of the other patrons were paying him any attention at all, and it also seemed uncomfortably warm in here, and maybe the winter air would be refreshing.
If she was adamant about staying though, he wouldn't argue. "Which would you prefer?"
