It couldn't be helped. Emi was her match. If Vi happened to ask, Vesp would tell him the truth. She was happily in love. {"Of course we will! Even with his crowded the place was only a few minutes later, Ves was on her way to their table with a tray of snacks and drinks.
Was Vesp sure about that? He’d proudly keep holding her hand no matter what age he was, just as he would happily be out and about with their papas any time and any day. He already knew he wasn’t going to be one of those teens who were ashamed to be seen with parents or grew tired of their families.
Vi saw that his sister was happily in love and he was so, so happy for her. If anyone deserved all the happiness in the world, it was Vesper. {“How about a bit of both? We could bring Emi to the Three Broomsticks.”} Was this Vi’s cunning way of wanting to come get some more sugary goodness later on? Yes, it was. {“And we can also let them pick something they want to do.”} By then, Vi would probably poof to give the couple a moment. {“Most likely with Di. He always helps me practise.”} That bestie of his was a real sport for constantly being okay with staying on the pitch so often with him.
Of course Vesp got his order correct. Vi’s face brightened as he saw her approaching and he jumped to his feet to help her ease the trays onto their table. {“I’m starved!”} Not really but he was always hungry for sweets. A brownie was his first target. {“When you’re all settled in, there’s something I want to talk to you about. I hope I won't be bothering you with it...”} Vi didn’t meet her gaze but he really did need to talk about it or he felt as though he’d explode. |
