~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes. Dhruv dared not take their gaze off Taliesin and the acromantula. Not even when they heard the slight commotion involving Jaws and the other students. They knew Jaws since the time the Thestral became a part of the herd at Hogwarts; Jaws would defend the girls. As for Taliesin, he was a quick thinker by diving under the leaves. Of course, that would have been no big deal since acromantulas had a rather keen sense of smell.
Dhruv was also one hundred percent certain that theirs or Ean’s defensive spells - or both perhaps - would find its mark. Theirs did, and not a moment too soon since the arachnid had come dangerously close to catching Taliesin. Then the second spell hit and that was exactly what was needed. Taliesin was bought adequate time to dash off towards the safety of the Castle. The DADA professor had just enough time to process a thought of approval regarding the Hufflepuff’s quick thinking and speed when loud screeching pierced the air once more. They knew what that meant. “Quickly,’’ Dhruv said urgently, gesturing at Kara and Ariadne. “Follow Mr. Dane. Jaws, guide them towards the gate.” Whether the students could see the thestral... well, there wasn't any time to deal with that now. The two needed to take advantage of the fact that the hangry acromantula had been knocked off the path. They threw Ean a glance, memories of a particular event which occurred two summers ago surging through their mind. Then they were focusing their attention back to the arcomantula and the surrounding area of the Forest because… 1: constant vigilance; 2: there was just as enough reason for Dhruv to continue being protective. |
