Heavens! She was quite the chatterbox. That only meant that Lily and he would have much to talk about. “Hello. Lily. What a pleasure to meet you. My name is Bartholomew but you may call me Bart.” Trusting that the words answered her initial question, old Barty extended a tentacle for a tentacle-hand shake. “I am having an absolutely serene day, my dear. Is the weather mostly dreary where you live then?”
Lily's eyes widened in surprised, d..did the Giant Squid just talk? Surely she was imagining things, but then again this was Hogwarts and magical place, anything was possible.
"Oh... wow, I didn't know you talk! Silly me this is Hogwarts anything is possible!" Letting out a giggle she shook his tentacle.
"Nice to meet you Bart, do all the other creatures talk in the lake?" Tilting her head in curiosity. She knew merpeople talked underwater, but did other Lake creatures talk to? She wondered.
Lily smiled.
"That's good that you are, would be terrible if you were although this place looks like a good place to clear your thoughts and get away from things." Lily nodded.
"Uh-huh, we get snow a lot where I'm from it doesn't get hot like it does here in the summer, only in the 32.2 degrees Celsius which is about 90 in fahrenheit which I'm still not familiar with being from America. I'm from Lake Tahoe California. " She knew most people didn't know where that was at due to not being to the states, but Bart seem very wise so maybe he knew.
