Background:
- Alexei and his sister Elena were born via surrogate on 29th February 2104, to fathers Oliver and Dragomir Petrov. While they are twins, they are also half-siblings; Oliver is the biological father of Alexei, and Dragomir is the biological father of Elena. Alexei is the younger twin.
- Alexei and Elena were named after Oliver's biological parents (Oliver and his triplet siblings having been raised by his uncles after the death of his parents); Alexei also shares his name with Dragomir's uncle, who died during childhood.
- When the twins were still very young, Oliver and Dragomir also adopted an older child from Stemp House; Juniper Finn Petrov is fourteen years older than Alexei and Elena and joined the family as a teenager.
