Pulling a hand through her long brown curls Violet spotted Kit over at his desk looking a bit drained, and if her eyes didn't decive her down. Naturally her sympathy, and curiousty was peeked, and she wound her way over towards his desk. "Good afternoon Kit, how did the graphorn case go? Were the graphorns really bad off?" Kitty looked up as his superior came over, then straightened up in his chair. "Ah—hello, Violet." He had to push the hard candy to the side of his mouth so he wasn't speaking around it. It clattered a bit against his teeth, and he thought that maybe it was a bit unprofessional to be talking to the head of department with something in his mouth—but it felt equally as bad to spit it out back into the wrapper. Left him with one option, he supposed. He quickly swallowed the piece of candy, but it was still fairly big and had a hard time going down. His eyes watered and he coughed a bit, but everything was fine. "Er, yeah, it went well," he continued after a moment. He tried to play it off managed to force a bit of a smile. "The poachers were all apprehended and I got all the graphorns to a sanctuary. But, uh, yeah, they weren't doing so well..." Kitty's smile turned somber. "They had clearly been, uh, mistreated. Underfed, physically harmed, the works," he sighed. "After all this time working here I still don't understand how anyone could treat a living thing like that..." |
