For such a little shortie, she was doing really well staying ahead of him.
Christopher didn't bother picking up his pace right away. He did happen to have bottles of water in his hands that he didn't want to drop. Not to mention that the sun really did feel wonderful shining down on him the way that it was. The sand on his feet was warm but not so bad that he couldn't run over it.
The entire time he was only a few feet behind Reagan keeping her in his sight. It was true that he could easily catch her should he have wanted to, should he had quickened his strides. Yet, he didn't. He would allow her to win today. Happiness was a great way to begin their little vacation. And as long as she was happy, so was he.
