How could she not? Uncle Adi loved her like one of his own too! Like mama loved Ary like her own.
She tried her very best. His smile always warmed her heart. "Most of the time but you're smarter when it comes to lots of things and that's okay." This was why they made the bestest team. Where one of them wasn't at their strongest, the other usually was able to lend a helping hand. "Fantastic! You know I'll be there cheering you on every single step of the way." She was going to be the best girlfriend and show her unconditional support.
The blonde giggled. "I never have so I can't start now." She'd been reminding him of this for how many years now?
That was true: Bry did love helping, especially when it came to creatures. She was also right about his dad loving her like Dynah and Nadia, because Dad Adi really did. And it was only fair that Aunty Hady loved him like she loved her own kids; after all, no one could be able to resist his adorable charms, right?
Ary did know he was smart but luckily, he had inherited a level of modesty from his parents. He shrugged lightly, but pleased with Bry’s words nevertheless. “Thanks! And yes, it’s okay. We can learn stuff together, right?” And they usually did! He gazed at the engraved name of his dad again, feeling quite motivated. Yup, Ary had found the answer he had been looking for; Dynah had been right to send him along to the Trophy Room. “Yep, I know. You’ll be my lucky charm.” It was a corny thing to say and it just might make Bry giggle.
The boy laughed. “That makes sense. Okay, shall we head out to the barns? Your mum might need help.” |
