Returning to the front of the hall, he addressed the group once more. ”Great practice so far, everyone. If you feel confident with the incantations and wand movements for both spells, you may start casting now. The spell information is on the board if you need a refresher. If you need help, raise your hand, and one of us will assist you.” He gestured toward his colleagues as he said the last sentence. ”Now let's get decorating!”
Sydney listened semi-intently to the second spell demonstration. Did it only work on snow, or could she use it to turn other materials into ornaments? Come to think of it, was there a spell to turn the snow into something a little less… decorative? That sounded like am experiment for another time!
For now, she focused on practicing the other spell. ”Cry-stal-lus dec-us,” she muttered. ”Crystallus Decus,Crystallus Decus…” Okay, that was enough of that! Feeling confident with the incastation, she moved on to the wand movement. She made the circular movement with er wand, quickly growing bored with the repetition. Were they allowed to actually try the spells yet?
She sipped her cocoa, fidgeting with the deer ears on her hat until she heard the go-ahead. Drawing her wand, she moved to the nearest Christmas tree. ”Perpetua Nivis,” she cast, making the Z-shaped wand movement. Did that work?
