~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes. In the end, Ary did manage to create a glowing white trail and it followed his wand for a good two seconds before disappearing. It was a positive start and it boosted his confidence about completing the next part of the lesson, which was being explained now.
Following the instructions, the fourth year headed to the box and grabbed the first pouch that he saw. It was opened eagerly and the picture within extracted. The said picture turned out to be a Chirping Robot Bird, which he thought was very cool. Flipping the photo over for the location clue, Ary read it was in a nest on a tree branch. “Makes sense,’’ the guy said to himself, knowing that his work was cut out for him since the Grounds was home to many trees. But then again, not every tree had a nest, right?
With that thought in mind, Ary took off with his wand in hand. And another thought occurred to him. Were topiaries trees? If they were, the Topiary Garden would be an excellent place for a robot bird to be hanging out. He should have asked Drake that question earlier; the boyfriend no doubt would have known. Oh well.
The Slytherin practised the spell as often as he could during the course of his search and eventually was able to make the white triangle linger more often. This was highly encouraging for him and further motivated him during his search. About fifteen minutes into the activity, he came across the start of the Pathways with trees in the vicinity of it. “Obiectum ReVElio.” The triangle shape was traced out, the glowing white trail following the wand. The triangle stuck around for a second then changed into a shape resembling the outline of the bird in the picture. Quite delighted, Ary approached the closest tree and was able to spot the nest sitting on a branch quite easily. Using a Summoning Charm, the orange and blue bird was retrieved in no time.
Yep, he was quite pleased with this prize. |
