Even she knew that was too much and had instead compromised with herself to settle on two train ride books and one feast book and then she would check the library and hope to find all the rest of the remaining works to cross off her read list on the weekends. However, as the blonde scampered down the train corridors towards the trolley, it was becoming less and less likely she would even read one of her train books due to her excitement of finally getting to Hogwarts. She could not wait to see where her fellow St. Woboldo's Primary School graduates ended up and had a few favorites she hoped would end up in the same house she was sorted in but if not herself then the house her brother ended up in. They family hadn't spoken to it, offering only words of encouragement and excitement instead, but everyone knew that herself and her twin were not going to end up in the same house. She hadn't said as much over dinner at the table but her reading of Hogwarts a History, particularly the chapters with emphasis on the Founders, made it very obvious to her that they would be seperated.
Okay, so she had talked to Nyle about this during their late night tent twin meeting with cookies and milk sneaked out from the kitchen after mum and dad had supposedly gone to bed ... and at first they had both felt some sort of way about it, especially after learning just how strong and important their bond was after dad's incident. By about the fifth milk dunked cookie, however, they were both joyous about the prospect of being in different houses and finding somewhere in the castle or grounds to meet up and catch each other up on everything.
Finally catching up with the Trolley Lady, Iris pushed her thick rimmed glassed up on her face a bit more and took a moment to survey her options and narrow down what she wanted. It was obviously a rite of passage to buy a treat on the trolley. She would pick something up for her brother too who, last she saw of him, had cornered a prefect or someone who was checking on all the first years on the train to tell them all about some seeds he was keeping in his pocket. "True hope is swift, and flies with swallow's wings," she hummed while picking up a box of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans and wondering if it was too quintessential or just the right amount of quintessential or if it was worth wanting to gag over the awful flavors because getting a good flavor was just that fantastic. Or maybe she should go with a cauldron cake instead? Bouncing up and down on her heels, Iris glanced around to see if she could spot any familiar faces who could help her make a choice because, for once, she was at an impasse.
Except for what to get Nyle, hence the pouch of licorice wands tucked under her arm.
