Oh he knew and that was exactly why he could get away with it. Being like every other couple was boring you see but no matter how much winding up or pushing buttons he could manage, Joseph was the person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with so he had to up the natural charm too. “I know” he beamed, then sent a ridiculous kissy face down at his boyfriend. “You’d have got rid of me long ago otherwise.” Despite their obvious differences, there were a lot of similarities too between the pair in terms of attitudes and interests that just made them work.

..and it helped that Joseph was incredible to look at but let’s assume that physical attraction was not a priority.

Even more important was that this conversation had temporarily distracted from the blame accusations. At the end of the day they were both idiots who if they actually decided to use their brains would likely be dangerous. Joseph especially - those legilimens skills could be a weapon in the wrong hands.

Y’know when someone’s humour was so dry that you couldn’t tell whether they were being sarcastic or not? In Fynley’s defence he didn’t have a tracking charm on Joseph and therefore knew every one of his movements when the other wasn’t around. For all he knew Joseph might have decided to up his exercise routine. “Oh you’re being sarcastic” he mimicked Joseph’s ~iconic~ eye roll. “The gym isn’t as scary as you might think though, I promise that I’d look after you,” he smirked. As for that last statement, after a brief clear of the throat he replied. “I invite myself to those, thank you.”

Fynn was honestly of the opinion that the past was the past and there was no point in dwelling on what could have been when the outcome was much the same. It was the adventure in getting there after all, sure they could have made their life easier but when had they ever taken the mundane route? Being called a genius however for remembering a charm from their earlier years of education, which for your average wizard was probably part of everyday life, was both a compliment and an insult. But please do remind him that his years at Hogwarts weren’t a complete failure. His fingers curled perfectly around Joseph’s as the other tugged him down the staircase and out into the thankfully mostly empty street. Fynley hadn’t been that impressed that the studio flat was above Cranville’s but was now feeling grateful that the junk shop didn’t attract the same sort of crowds some of the more popular stores did in Diagon.

“I’ll boost you onto that ledge there” he pointed with his free hand to the wonky section of roof to the left side.
