First year done and dusted.
..And he didn’t die!
Take THAT siblings who doubted that he’d be able to last the year without seriously maiming himself from doing something incredibly reckless. It wasn’t his fault that they were too boring to understand that doing fun things meant some element of danger. Like swimming in the lake in the middle of winter for example. Yes it might have given him hypothermia but he also got to experience what icicles felt like when they formed on his wet skin, or the speed in which his teeth could chatter against one another involuntarily or how blue his lips could turn in a matter of seconds from the lack of circulation. His eldest brother had rescued him from imminent danger by insisting he go to the hospital wing which he did, Evander wasn’t completely stupid.
He wasn’t accomplishing the year having achieved everything that he had set his mind to, his list of friends wasn’t as long as his arm and was really a collection of people who put up with his antics for more than five minutes. But he’d had fun and neglecting the fact that Hogwarts was a school and meant for education was all part of the experience.
The Gryffindor boarded the train with the intention of finding his siblings at some point but for the time being had plopped himself down in an empty compartment with his eyes glued towards the open door in the hopes that something or someone more exciting would wander by.
