Sage did not usually enjoy studying or completing assignment in the common room. She could appreciate the underwater aesthetic but being literally under water felt claustrophobic and it more often than not suffocated her mind. Fresh air, treetops, battlements, rafters...anything that had a certain height and continuous flow of air was where she most thrived and came up with the majority of her more brilliant ideas. Today, however, the confinement of the common room was welcoming and almost nurturing her academic process. Which she supposed made sense considering her task today was narrowing down her ingredients list and finalizing at least half of the quantities. Well, as final as she could do before heading to the Potions Lab and giving things a brewing test.

Plopping herself down on a pile of pillows that had seemingly migrated from the sofas to one of the corner windows, Sage lines her ingredient filled phials out in a row before her and set a small stack of parchments containing notes and calculations from the research phases beside those. "Now, let's begin with the basics," she hummed to herself while pulling out a fresh piece of parchment and set her quill to it. "Water...250 ml..." A neutral base to allow for the rest of the ingredients to dissolve and shine best. She had tried with some other bases, mostly fruit juices and stock, just to see how things may pan out...but the balance had been all off and even neutralize some of the ingredients. Milk had been out of the question as well seeing as it curdled when the temperature reached a certain height and animals spleens especially needed high temperature. "Next...two honeysuckle ovaries, three dried petals, and two whole nasturtium buds..."

Text Cut: Sage's parchment
  • 250 ml water
neutral base to best allow for other ingredients to dissolve and reach best potency
  • 2 honeysuckle ovaries
reduce inflammation (nasal, smaller air passages) and relax in particular the Levator labii superioris alaeque nasalis (LLSAN) muscle
  • 3 dried honeysuckle petals
to add sweetness to neutralize bitter and sour notes of other ingredients; making the potion more palatable
  • 2 nasturtium buds
strengthen respiratory system; neutralize unattractive potion coloring
