Emma was anxious when she heard about the assignment because while it sounded super duper exciting, was it safe? Surely though Professor Paton wouldn't put them in harms way but hatching dozens of dragons all over the castle.... ? Unless they were fake dragons which would would take some of the adventure out. Dragon replicas probably seemed more realistic than the actual thing.
As far as which dragon she was hoping for, the Antipodean Opaleye sounded cool, but so did the common welsh green with its musical roar. At first the peruvian vipertooth, cause it being the smallest with her being tiny was appealing but maybe not? "Professor ... did you mention how big these will get? Will they be full grown?"
Once several selected their eggs already, the third year made her way over to the eggs and decided it best to just close her eyes and select one randomly. Which is exactly what the small hufflepuff did. Holding out it up to inspect it, she figured she would decide on the naming after it hatched. For now she collected one of the baskets and wrapped it in one of the glittery blankets thinking it might grant her the wish of an Opaleye.
