It’s true, Drake was certain their friendship would have still be strong enough to withstand their separation. But… Drake really loved being in the same house, so he was glad they were dorm mates and didn’t have to be separated. He doubted he would have found another dorm mate as enthused about blanket forts and still willing to indulge in such juvenile activities with him. Not that he considered it that, but others certainly could. He beamed at his response, and had the offer to help him been said verbally, he probably would have accepted. But… learning to be his own person too was probably something he’d eventually need to figure out on his own.
It felt like one of the requirements, really.
Putting fears to rest, he definitely was. Drake had hoped Aryan’s dad liked him, but of course he didn’t have full confirmation of it until his best friend spoke. Without thinking, he heaved a small sigh of relief, before another bright smile was sent at Ary. “He does??” He’d just have to make sure he stayed in his good graces then. “Professor Paton sounds like she has a LOT on your plate!” This was said in awe, as he blinked slightly while continuing to take in all the information. “Have your families always been super close?”
The creatures were in part of why he was here, though the biggest reason was next to him. But still, he was glad he’d get to see all of the types so often. For now, he continued to follow along to see the dragons, eyes growing WIDE as he heard the tell-tale sounds that signified how close they were getting. At the reminder to not startle, he gave a nod in understanding. “Okay! What are the things that usually startle them?” Just so he could make sure to… y’know, not do them.
