...right?
"...three...or four..." she smiled, something shifting in her eyes while her gazed lingered for a moment or two longer before she looked away again. "...of course, that's...that's the normal thing...um...I mean...wow, geese can be pretty aggressive...but that is because they are territorial and protective creatures. Maybe you unknowingly were playing close to a nest or eggs...real pity we cannot speak goose so we could tell them we mean no harm." She tried to laugh it off, even doing so much as to turn her head back to him though the laugh had clearly not reached her eyes. She thought she had played it all off well enough so maybe they could shift to discussing what creatures they wished they could speak with and the moral ramifications of Animalis Fidelis...but her cheeks were turning red for entirely different reasons than usual and this particular shade of red even seemed to be creeping to her nose. "...eight? Waking up in a room full of flowers with my mom holding my hand. That was the day I got my chocolate scented chocolate frog plushie...still smells to this day too. Sometimes...I think I may have glimpses from when I was six or seven...maybe...but..I don't feel confident that I am actually remembering them or...if I only do from pictures to fill in gaps..." Like she did with many 'memories' she would share and speak to. "I do just have a really terrible memory though, everyone knows that."
He wasn't sure if he was imagining it, but it felt like this conversation had taken a turn. The atmosphere wasn't as lighthearted as it had been earlier, and it wasn't necessarily a bad thing; it was just unexpected.

Ezra was puzzled by the initial focus on the age he'd guessed at for the memory, but then came the focus on the goose. The analysis she gave was probably similar to what his dad or mum had said at the time, that the animal was probably protecting something since he hadn't intentionally tried to provoke it at the time. "Yeah, I think I was trying to see if I could pet it or something," he said with a small smile in response to her laugh, though even the laugh sounded a little...off? At least, not one he was used to hearing from her.

An eyebrow rose at her answer to her earliest memory. Eight years old? That seemed...well, he wasn't sure if he could call it odd. He wasn't an expert on childhood development and memory, so maybe that was...not uncommon, for lack of a better term. But it was unexpected to him. And maybe a little concerning? Especially with how different she seemed when talking about it. "Have you seen a healer about it?" Maybe that was a stupid question. Considering how long she'd been dealing with it, she probably had. But he wasn't sure what else to say.
