Elias could sense his brother's approach before he even opened his mouth. Constant vigilance had been drilled into the Greenwood’s from a young age, so much so that Eli had unnaturally heightened senses and the ability to observe without even seeing. There was a familiarity with the pattern of footsteps and the slight change in atmosphere. He needn’t even turn around to know that Ezra had joined him and the unchanged body posture proved that he was comfortable with the company.
Technically he hasn’t suggested meeting at the Shrieking Shack, he just said that it would be where he would be if Ezra wanted to see him. As for the reasons why he chose this place and not somewhere on the High Street, well they were plentiful. “It’s far quieter, it’s fascinating and most importantly our siblings aren’t here” he commented nonchalantly, keeping his eyes trained on the flickering light behind one of the boarded up windows.
“It’s supposed to be the most haunted house in Britain but it’s not haunted at all. Or at least it wasn’t when it was used as a werewolf sanctuary. But with all that anguish and torture, I wouldn’t be surprised if there was something darker concealed within the walls.” Like an Obscurus or a Boggart or even a Dementor.
Just the usual thoughts of a completely ordinary fourteen year old boy.
