Sydney made her way to the table on the far right side of the room… the Slytherin table. Her grayish-blue eyes scanned the table as she took the nearest available seat, taking in its occupants. It wasn’t that she was intimidated by the other students. Age was only a number; there were more important things like smarts and talent. Unfortunately, social skills were not her forte, and only fools rushed into a situation without knowing what they were up against.
They seemed a mostly friendly bunch so far. After quietly observing for a few moments, Sydney spoke up. “Hello. I’m Sydney,” she introduced herself, more out of pride than anything else. She didn’t want her new housemates to get the wrong impression of her, that she was too shy and nervous to talk. If they engaged her, maybe she’d say more. Maybe not… depending on how interesting the conversation was.
