Reuben Darcy-Stemp was never going to win any academic awards: perhaps he should be achieving ‘Exceeds Expectations’ just for turning in his tests. He’d probably only achieve a few passes if the professors were grading on a curve.

So maybe one would be surprised by the confidence with which he left his History of Magic OWL. Reuben was certain he had it in the bag - the reasons for tension in seventeenth century Wizarding relationships with Leprechauns couldn’t be because Leprechaun Gold was fake.

He had collected a whole jar full at a fair last summer! He was rich!
