Bathes in Maple Syrup | Dancing Lobster | Mrs. Charlie Weasley | Seneca's Beard | That's So Fetch Another school year had come and gone. Gillyweed again had mixed feelings about such a thing. To her it seemed like her time at at school was passing by quickly -- she had only just been a first year not that long ago, and now she was months away from being a third year. Plus she still wanted to spend more time in the Room of Requirement and discover more of Hogwarts' secrets. As rationale settled in, though, she knew there were five more years ahead of her to do such things. So thoughts of possible summer plans is what started to fill her brain as she ventured up to the Great Hall.
Plant some fauna ... read ... a visit the zoo ... conduct beginner-level alchemy experiments ... more reading ... maybe a trip to the beach ... all of these had come to mind by the time the curly-haired girl made her way through the threshold of the large hall doors. She would, of course, have to converse with Drake about such things, which she figured, as she walked in the direction of the Slytherin table, could wait until the train ride home in the morning.
In greeting, a small smile was given as she placed herself near the three that were already seated at the table, settling in directly across from both Aryan and Bryony. She made quick work of listening in on the conversation that was being had, curious about the subject matter and if it was something she could chime in on. Talk of the House Cup was being had, which made sense given the evening's décor. It was something Gilly was proud of, though there really wasn't much further commentary she could add.
She wondered how long until the feast would be underway. Maybe she could get a few pages of the book she had in her pocket read before the headmaster rose from his chair to give his speech...
