Wilber had just woken up from a nice nap, well-rested and ready to enjoy tonight’s feast. He couldn’t wait to sample the dishes the house elves had so generously prepared, especially those delicious baked goods. The thought of cookies and pastries had his mouth practically watering already!
The old man settled into his throne-like chair at the center of the dais, just in time to catch the end of Celeste’s question. He smiled as the herbology professor passed behind his chair. “Hello, Celeste, Tapio,” he greeted the pair, his smile growing at the mention of family. “Quiet summers with family are the best kind, aren’t they?” His thoughts turned to his late wife, but he couldn't’ allow them to stay there. After all, he still had Earl. He still had his staff and many students. “I’m looking forward to a quiet summer myself. What about you, Celeste dear?”
As he awaited an answer, Wilber turned his attention to the other arrivals. “Hello, Apollonia. How are you this fine evening? My, that outfit looks simply stunning!” The two younger gentlemen were similarly greeted with a smile. “Dhruv, Ean, hello! How are you two dears?”
When enough of the staff had arrived, he gave them his customary riddle. ‘Can anyone tell me how Acromantulas stay in touch with each other?”
