Nevertheless, he also wanted to make his teachers proud of him, and not look like a failure to all the other students, and also not get eaten by a zombie. "R-Riddikulus. Riddikulus. Riddikulus..." He was trying his very best, but he wasn't doing very well at all, and he felt more and more helpless as the thing moved closer to him. Whether or not the boggart turned into the friendly yellow bird, Brandon was already sort of fainting- ...Sorry, Professor Khanna... Looking at the boggart was just too much for him (this time, at least). If there was such reluctance, then Brandon’s safety was very much at heavy risk in the real world should such a situation crop up. Or maybe not?
That attempt at the Boggart Repelling spell finally did some good. Not completely good but enough. With a rather echoing POP!, Brandon’s faux sister disappeared and was replaced by a rather comical but huge yellow bird… without wings. The bird’s expression was a blank was, as though it were shocked to find hands to reach out and grab Brandon.
Best escape while you can, young human!
Dhruv followed their own advice to Brandon and breathed. Had they known about Brandon’s silent apologies, they would have reassured him there was no need for any of that. The attempts to repel the Boggart had been excellent ones, even if the ridiculously yellow bird had no wings. The result seemed to have stymied the Boggart temporarily. SPOILER!!: Hope! Quote:

Hope knew she knew this, but it was hard to think with all these emotions going on.
Oh, right--laughter. Find a way to laugh at it. Easier said than done, because there was nothing funny about dying animals as far as Hope was concerned. But finally, in the back of her shocked brain, there came the germ of a thought. Shakily she raised her wand and in a as bold a voice as she could manage she cried out, "Riddikulus!" As she did so, she imagined all the animals springing up and shouting out, "Just fooling!" in little squeaky voices. Even if one didn’t look, they were sure to hear. The cries of despair from each hurt creature, mundane and magical alike, were enough to rip out anyone’s heart. They were all crawling towards Hope as though hoping she would render them assistance.
Would she help them? Or -
The Charm wafted over them in an instant. The pitiful cries died away instantly and happy, healthy creatures suddenly sprang to life. “JUST FOOLING! JUST FOOLING!” they squeaked as they danced in sheer delight.
Excellent use of the Bogart Repelling Charm, Hope! |
