Hope stood poised on the very edge of the pond, watching. Suddenly she saw what looked like a large monkey covered with scales spring up before her, with an ugly expression on its face (she could swear the thing was positively leering at her!) A Kappa!! Not expecting this, Hope had not taken the precaution of bringing a cucumber with her, so she did the next best thing. Solemnly (and trying not to show the panic she felt inside), she made an old-fashioned, formal bow to the thing. |
