It didn’t matter whether you ventured into the pool or not. Either action will result in the kappa making an appearance, which it did as it had sensed human presence lurking closer. Beady eyes stared eerily at Maria and in the blink of an eye, it began heading for the Hufflepuff at rapid speed.
"Yikes!"Maria blurted out in surprise as a kappa surfaced in the murky pond water, and started to look very eerily at her with it's black beady eyes and she quickly looked away. She did not like sea demons that looked like monkies. Getting nervous she gripped her wand harder, tensing up in fright as the kappa began heading for her in rapid speed. "Protego!" she casted quickly. A defensive shield was always a good start, right?
What was she going to do though? Think. Kappa's liked cucumbers, but she didn't have a cucumber at hand. What could she do instead? "Locomotor Mortis!" Maria casted with a scream when the kappa was only 3 feet away from her, and looking eerily at her with it's eyes. Could locking it's feet make the kappa bend it's head to weaken it enough to let her pass?
