Desiree had been hard at work studying for her NEWTs all day, and she needed a break. Instead of beelining straight for her common room like usual, she headed to the music room. Her dad always said music was the best way to unwind. She made her way to the piano, daintily sitting on the bench, and gently touched the keys. Her dad taught her how to play piano when she was little, but since she decided to go into the healer program, it wasn’t a skill she used much anymore.
She absentmindedly fingered the keys, plinking out a random melody until her skill came back to her. As the random notes died, she began to play a song from a musical based on her favorite book, and her thoughts turned to a time before she started Hogwarts when she saw a school production of said musical starring a young man who, funnily enough, shared a name with a different romantic lead from classic literature. She sang softly:
