~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes. While his lovely wife seemed to be handling all these significant changes to her life, Connor was not. At least not when he was with Addi; he kept himself well composed whenever one of the kids discussed their plans of moving out. Mentally, he was preparing himself for the day Reagan made it known that she intended to move in with Chris. Thankfully, that day had not yet come but he knew it would at some point. Connor was still grappling to understand where all the time had gone and how his and Addi’s four little ones had gotten to be adults so quickly. But as bittersweet as this may all be, the man was at peace knowing that all four of his children had found happiness in terms of their respective partners and their careers. It was all a parent could ask for. “Eager, are you?” Laughing, Con came into view, fully dressed. “Ready, my dear,’’ he added as he leaned in and pressed a loving kiss to Addison’s cheek. “Look at you, all dressed up! One glance at you and all the creatures would want you to adopt them.” One of the upsides to having less parental responsibilities is that he could have more time with his wife, something which he fully intended on taking advantage of. Con opened the house’s front door. “After you, Addison.”
And no… even after all this time, he still referred to her by her full name for some reason; it was a habit that he noted that Reagan had picked up. She never called Christopher by any shortened name. |
