~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes. Dash had always known where Rafa stood when it came to kids but it had only been lately that Rafa’s resolve to not having any of his own had started to wane. It was due to a combination of having to deal with so many kiddos at Eeylops and being friendly with Dash’s students. Mostly? Mostly it had been because of Diallo and Devad. There had been a few times when the thought crossed his mind about him and Dash having at least one. Though he knew Dash would make an excellent father, Rafa wasn’t sure what sort he’d make. He often envisioned himself being awkward and unsure of how to tend to said child, so that was all it had been: fleeting thoughts and nothing more. Devad scrubbed at his face to remove the residual tears. Now that all was right with his little world, he was bright and bouncy again. He peered down at his brother, leeeaning over Uncle Rafa’s side in an attempt to reach his brother. “All good,’’ he echoed happily after surveying Diallo. He was quite ready to play, all thoughts of going to sleep successfully vanished from his head. Rafa chuckled as he quickly adjusted his hold on Dev as the little one leaned over his side. Kids. They did not care about their own wellbeing and often manoeuvred themselves into doing weird things. Luckily Rafa was able to hold Dev properly until he was ready to set him down a short while later. “Sure, Di. Here he comes! Devad Airline, ready for landing!” With that, Rafa zoomed the younger boy around in his hold like a plane heading in for landing, bringing Dev to a halt just outside of the kitchen where it was safe from any stray glass flakes. “Dev’s all yours, Di.” Giggling, Dev obliged by making aeroplane sounds and even stuck his hands out so that they acted as wings. Once he was on his feet again, he shouted, “Last one back to the room is a rotten Occamy egg!’’ Off he sprinted, hoping to leave Di a short way behind. Now that it was just Rafa and the incredibly hot hubby again, Dash got all of his attention. “You never cease to amaze me with how great you are with kids, Dash.” |
