The hustle and bustle of the daycare regularly kept her on her toes and despite how much she loved it, it didn’t stop her from looking forward to an hour or so in the much calmer (although equally as busy at times) cafeteria. Her tray of food, a Caesar salad - she had a wedding dress to fit into after all, and a steaming cup of Cappuccino was carefully placed in front of her as she slipped into a seat at a presently empty table.

She didn’t have any reading materials today, the majority of the planning was completed with the wedding only being a month and a half away and so she was resigned to people watching which was one of her favourite activities anyway. She had made a habit of trying to work out which department others belonged to by their lunch order and chosen attire. She’d decided that those with the more active jobs, the Aurors and Hit Wizards, tended to favour meals packed with proteins and healthy carbs whereas those with office jobs seemed to pick the heartier homecooked style meals that your Mum would offer every Sunday and the Mystery lot she suspected were those who slipped in and out without being noticed. Whether her assumptions were correct she’d never know as she hadn’t ever directly asked her fellow Ministry employees where they belonged nor did she have any intention to.

The blonde forked a helping of lettuce into her mouth and gently chewed as she watched the queue of people filtering in and out of the buffet.
In all honesty, Ariadne hadn't really had the chance to venture the rest of the ministry. Most of her time required her to be off-site, and the days when she was on level two were spent shadowing the aurors and doing on-the-job training. Sure, her department had some really great facilities—that exercise room might just be her favourite place to be, when she had the time for it—but Ari wasn't going to confine herself within the boundaries of level two. She was no stranger to the atrium and, by extension, the food court. Some things, the magical vending machines just could not provide, you know?

Today had been a rather easy one, in comparison to the action-packed days spent physically training, so Ari wasn't that hungry but she knew that if she didn't get anything in her system right now, she would be. There was still some case paperwork she had to go through later on with the auror she was shadowing for the day. Vetoing against anything substantially heavy, Ari opted for a yogurt bowl, tossing a couple fruits into it for the colour, and some coffee. Paperwork made her sleepy, okay?

Ari wouldn't have minded occupying a table to herself, but she was lucky enough to spot her future cousin-in-law among the sea of workers. She weaved through the crowd, carrying her tray, and made her way to Allie. "Hi, cousin dear. May I join?" It was nice to know someone in a place that was still pretty new to her, much like when she transferred to Hogwarts in her fifth year, Ari had to admit to herself. "Are you waiting for Matty?" Even when she and Matty actually were in the same department, Ari hadn't seen the older Ackerly today. Not surprising, though. People in their level were always busy.
