It wasn’t necessarily shyness or timidity that had caused his face to give away exactly how he was feeling but rather an internal acknowledgement of his lack of ability of forming a conversation without making himself out to appear a fool. An admission of his own awkwardness you could say without entirely meaning to do so. He liked to think he was good at conversation and he was in the sense that he could talk and talk about seemingly nonsense for hours and yet when a compliment was afforded towards him his brain neglected to communicate in the normal way and he flushed instead.
He was right in the sense that Bowie was entirely too humble for his own good. “I don’t believe that’s true. I mean I’ve not accomplished half of what others have done. I attended WADA and I just got stuck in this sort of loop without necessarily going anywhere.” He wasn’t sure where it was that he wanted to go yet either. The question of a behind the scenes tour was surprisingly easy to achieve. “Right now?” he questioned. “Or did you have a date in mind?” Either option the answer was likely to be yes.
He wasn’t sure why but Denzel’s admission that he had kids was slightly surprising. There was no reason that a guy in his thirties wouldn’t have offspring but perhaps it was the cool and carefree attitude that the other man was emitting that made him question otherwise. “You have children?” he smiled slightly. Bowie had nothing against children, in fact he acted a little like an over-excited child himself on occasion but they had not yet crossed his mind. Not that he had a partner to have children with yet, he was unintentionally working on that one. “I’ve always wanted to go to one of those big matches, like a World Cup type of experience just for the atmosphere of it all y’know?” Not necessarily for the game itself but to be amongst the buzz of the hyped up supporters.
