Job Description: Mortemists are tasks specifically with studying death and the after life. These Unspeakables work closely with the Veil and may be asked to leave the Ministry to investigate near death experiences. Mortemists may work closely with magical creatures associated with death, including but not exclusive to, dementors, threstrals, and inferi. Interviewing and working alongside ghosts and poltergeists is common. Intensive research on the Killing Curse and other nonblockable spells, the nature of and relation of magic to the human body, are also performed in this position. They must be adept in spellwork. Horcruxes and the soul are also carefully examined as well as research into a method of reuniting a fractured soul. A minimum O grade in NEWT level Defense Against the Dark Arts, as well an E grade in NEWT level Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures is required. They must also have at least 3 other NEWT level subjects. Potions is recommended.

Type: ISFJ; The Defender
Short Description: Gethin is a very intellectual person, with an equal amount of importance on both the theory and practice behind things both mundane and magical. Very quick with learning and picking up new skills and assets as well. Things involving healing, protection, and anatomy come relatively naturally to him. Additionally, he’s been told he’s a bit of a social chameleon as it were. You could place Hughie in almost any group dynamic, and the Welsh man would find a suitable role for himself. Whether this be a role that was chosen or a given role has no real importance either. However, even through all of that, he’s still a relatively soft-spoken person and could be seen as a 'people-pleaser' to an extreme fault. Typically, Gethin won't speak up too much about things that he tends to disagree with unless it is of dire importance. Also, while wisdom, in general, maybe something that is placed at the forefront, mastery over things or the knowledge of what to do with said knowledge can be sometimes hard to find. Lastly, he’s very much of the type where he’s not getting any ‘party started’ so to speak. But he will at least keep the party going after it has already started; in layman’s terms, Hughie doesn’t go out of his way to be overtly or extremely social.
