Anna's presence did not go unnoticed. How could it? It was always a very bright and cheerful presence. One that Alissa was always happy to be around. She grinned at the Hufflepuff and waggled her fingers at her in greeting. "Hi Anna!" Shortly after her arrival Professor Fergusnout called the class to order for the lesson to start so she turned her attention to the front of the room.
When Professor Fergusnout asked about wizarding governing bodies, Alissa's first thought was, of course, the American wizarding government. While it didn't technically govern her any more, it had for her entire life until a year ago. She raised her hand. "In America, there's the Magical Congress of the United States of America. It's led by a President, not a Minister. And all of the representatives are elected. American muggles are governed by a Congress too, but they have two different bodies while the magical congress only has one." She knew a fair bit about the government because her dad was a lawyer, but she figured the professor wasn't looking for every detail she knew so she left it at that. |
