Once she was satisfied she had a good grasp on what they might be tested on, the fourth year returned to the Gryffindor tower with the thought of changing to head out for some flying.

As she entered the common room through the portrait hole, the last thing she expected to see was her friend climbing the bookcases but before she could even say anything smart in greeting, the mishap happened. “Wingardium Leviosa,” she cast on the falling garland once her wand was out, almost without thinking, her first thought having been that Vera herself had falling and needed assistance. But the decorations had become her target, the object in question now floating at least near her fellow Gryffindor so she could grab it back to fix where it had slipped from.

“I wonder if a broom might be a better thing to be climbing on for that task.” Or any of the other girl's plans, the box on the couch more readily noticable.
It was very, very lucky for the sixth year that it was only the garland falling and not herself. Not that she was high up enough to do any real damage to herself, but she certainly could have ended up with one heck of a bruise. But luckily for her, she was aware of how much she hated the purply color on her skin and the annoyance of the pain, so she had kept a firm grip on the bookcase in front of her. Even going so far as to charm one of her gloves to stick better to the surface. See? Sometimes she could use her head!

At the sound of the charm, Ve looked a little further over her shoulder as she plucked the now floating garland from the air so she could go back to draping it. Catching the familiar face of Nadia, she gave a smile and a nod of her head in hello. She would have waved but… either the garland or her safety would have been the sacrifice for it. “Hi Nads! Thanks for the assist.” Finishing up her work with the skulls, Vera clamored back down the book case, jumping back down onto the ground before peeling off her charmed glove and dusting off some residual dirt from her clothes. “A broom is an excellent idea, and sounds so much more fun! But I don’t know… somehow it seems more like a surefire way to get our Head of House’s attention. I can’t imagine flying around the common room is smiled upon.” Danger and all that, blah blah.

Moving to the couch to rifle through the box for something else to decorate with, she grinned back at the fourth year. “What’re you up to??”
