But then, little by little, she had built up her strength again, using a combination of intense healing efforts and a stubborn refusal to give up on whatever happiness she gained. So here she was, feeling better and more stable than she'd ever felt in her whole entire life. It was good. She felt good. Being happy was still a huge amount of work, but she was happy nonetheless. She smiled a lot.

Since she was feeling so good recently, she had more time to spend on catching up with friends and living her life in general. Today, she had specifically invited her good friend Kayne to lunch! She hadn't seen him in a while, so she'd gone shopping beforehand for a little present for him, hoping that could make things up. She was more tattooed, more happy, and a little older than when he'd seen her last (life had certainly changed her), and her hair was in an updo right now, but some things stayed the same. Her posture, the way she was sitting, the purple dress, and the napkin doodling identified her as the same old Ashley that he knew and loved.
Cue the music, cause it was showtime.

Strutting down the south side of Diagon Alley like it was a catwalk on this relatively chilly autumn day, black and red hair being tussled to and fro with the tempestuous breeze, was none other than Kayne Mordrake. What had brought him here on this day was an invite to grab some coffee and food with a dear old friend of his. The time had really flown by since both himself, and the other had since graduated from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. So it was about time that the two of them had finally caught up. And within his grasp, all wrapped up in some colorful cloth wrappings, was something in which he already knew she'd be looking forward to getting. Albeit, the package wasn't from Diagon Alley, but that was besides the point. The now 22 year old still had quite the memory for what exactly his friend had enjoyed, and the gift was literally tailored exactly to said passion.

Dawned in a typical day-to-day outfit; a yellow and pink puffer jacket, with a rather vibrant yellow vintage band tee, and some matching pink flairs, he'd eventually maneuver his way to the outside of the coffee shop that was there. It was a quaint little place. One which brought back some memories, not of here necessarily though. Just overall a nostalgic vibe to being here in the alley in general. And through the front window, he'd slightly peer in to see sitting at one of the tables inside was the friend that Kayne was there to meet with.

Walking in, a confident, slightly smug smile piercing from between his lips, his head would turn to the left. Without even fully walking over to her yet, his eyes would land right on the lass who was seated a mere few feet away from the door; "Well, well, well. If it isn't the Queen of the Swamp herself, Ashley Fox." He'd state, his smile clearly being displayed to show off the fact that the braces on his teeth were now long gone. It was one of the few things which actually changed about himself.

"I hope this seat wasn't taken, because well...now it is." And the words spoken would be happening in tandem as the pink combat boots he was wearing would also be heard tap, tap, tapping their way across the floor and towards the table that Ash was at.
