Something for today’s activity? Hmm.

As usual, Ary felt a little pang that meant he missed Professor Roulan, particularly whenever he stepped into the Charms class. Professor Feirgrund, whom he gave the finger wiggle-wave to, wasn’t doing a bad job as Charms professor though. Greeting out of the way, the Slytherin manoeuvred his way through the boxes and desks, settling to take a seat somewhere in the middle of the room.
Though no words were spoken, the wave was returned with a friendly nod and smile of acknowledgment. Welcome back, Master Atreyu-Rehman.

She flipped her reddish hair over one shoulder and settled down in a desk beside a box. She knew by now not to touch things until the professor said so, and instead took out her notebook to start doodling boxes and cubes. She was curious, sure, but she could also contain her magical curiosity for about five minutes or until class started.
"Hello, Miss Bunbury-Foster," Feirgrund greeted politely as well.

He'd thought it was all done and dealt with, but the new term had again brought him within reach of other students' germs, not to mention cold and flu season being right around the corner if not already here, and suddenly he found himself with a familiar cough and an even more familiar wheeze in his chest. No doubt more was on the horizon. Lame.

For the time being, Charlie had taken to wearing a regular muggle mask when he was around tons of other kids, like in lessons, because the magical equivalent wasn't suitable for him. Even though he still thought it shouldn't be up to him to take all these precautions, he did it anyway. The lung stuff was aggravating, painful, and no small inconvenience, and he didn't fancy yet another long St Mungo's stay so soon after the last. The sooner he got over it, the better.

As he entered the classroom, masked up but otherwise in uniform, Charlie gave Feirgrund a salute in greeting, before taking up a seat at random that happened to be near one of the other second years. Ary, or something. Charlie gave him a nod of acknowledgement, glanced over at the older girl already seated, then turned his attention to the box beside him. For a moment, he thought about opening it up to see what was inside - there was nothing, no notice or anything, to tell him not to - but ultimately found his curiosity lacking. The contents would be revealed soon enough, so why bother checking it out now?

So he left it, and lounged back in his chair instead, arms folded, tilting ever so slightly on the back legs of his chair, waiting for things to get kicked off.
Feirgrund returned the salute he was received. All too familiar with Master Upstead's condition, he would continue checking his status after the lesson, of course. No need to bring more attention than what the young lad was comfortable with.

Entering the classroom, Vera adjusted the strap of her bag and straightened her tie at the front of her uniform, before giving Professor Feirgrund a smile as she entered. After so many years of seeing him in the Muggle Studies classroom, she hadn't quite grown used to the change in scenery. "Hello, sir!" she greeted before giving nods to the other students already gathered as well. Aryan got an additional wink and finger wave of greeting, pleased to see one of her two favorite second years thus far present.

Though she imagined the other one was not far behind.

Sliding into an empty spot towards the back of the room, attention turned to survey the box. Did she want to open it already? Absolutely. She was considering if she could get away with it too since there was no express instructions to not.
"Hello, Miss Thanatos," Feirgrund greeted with a smile.

There was a similar looking box by every desk. She wondered if they each had the same thing in them. Liss glanced up at the board, wondering if it had any further instructions, but there were none. She glanced around at her classmates, and saw that none of them were opening their box. But they hadn't been told not to, so it wasn't like she could get in trouble for opening it, right? She decided that a little peek wouldn't hurt. So she tucked two fingers under the corner of the box and... it was stuck. She pulled a little harder, but it didn't budge. Considering the box didn't look like it should be stuck like that, she assumed it must be magically shut. So she just left it where it was and supposed she would find out what was in it soon enough.
"Hello, Miss Rhodes," Feirgrund greeted. Luckily, curiosity wasn't punishable as the box remained motionless.

Perhaps if she had a quick peek when the Professor was distracted with chatting with another student???

Giving the Professor an innocent little finger wiggles of hello, she smiled politely at him, as she went to find an empty seat in the back of the room, casually positioning her bag gently on top of the box in such a way where she could hopefully peer into the box...
Some were quiet and that was perfectly okay. Feirgrund returned Miss Montmorency's wave with his own.

She’d considered addressing the fact that it was approaching Halloween by dressing up for the occasion but there had been nothing on the noticeboard. Although she wouldn’t have been embarrassed by being the only one, she would feel a little like a distraction to the rest of the class. It wasn’t until she turned to Zara that the boxes came into view. “What do you think is in there?” Her head tilted curiously.
"Hello, Miss Ackerly," Feirgrund greeted.

She could see that Charlie had a mask on his face, but she sort of moved on from that as soon as it registered. Maybe he was sick again and didn't want to get more sicker. She waved excitedly at both of them. "Look at these new pens my brother sent me! There are four, and they all write in black!" Phoebe was SO excited.

Having said her hellos, she immediately turned her attention to the box by her desk. How did this thing open? She wanted to see what was inside.
Early students get priority in the best seating. Welcome back Miss Calypso.

She couldn't help but smile as she imagined how decked out this room would've been when her dad taught the subject. Her smile remained firmly in place as she greeted Professor Feirgrund. ”Hello, Professor!” she said with a dainty hand wave. ”I like your decorations.”

Cue more smiles and waves for the other students. ”Hi, everybody!” she greeted, taking her seat. With her supplies neatly arranged on the desk in front of her, she eyed the box with a mildly intrigued expression. What was in there? She'd been at Hogwarts long enough to know not to open a random box, though she did try to move it to give herself a bit more space, only to find it stuck. Interesting! Maybe they were doing the Unsticking charm today?
"Why thank you, Miss Marchand," Feirgrund nodded in appreciation. Halloween was one of his favorite holidays, although way too short of celebrating.

Yes, she was aware of the two big boxes sitting next to her desk, but no, she didn't try to open them or move them. Why would she? Even at eleven-years-old she knew better than to go poking her hands into boxes with unknown contents. With nothing else better to do, she just sat back in her seat and got herself comfortable.
Feirgrund returned the kind and polite gesture of Miss Bellerose with one of his own.

Can you teach us how to make pumpkins fly today?" It'd be so cool. Spotting both Ary and Emma already seated she made her way over to occupy the empty desk on the left next to Emma trying not to walk into any of the big boxes that was just everywhere. "Hi Ems, what do think is in the boxes? Wouldn't it be cool if there were fillibuster fireworks?"
"Now there's an idea, Miss Vance," Feirgrund could fashion something for the holiday, "While it won't be pumpkins today, there will be some objects floating today."

Upon entering the charms classroom she made a quick beeline to her usual desk. It was only when she had her utensils ready that she looked up and smiled shyly at the professor. Her english tutoring was going well, but her nerves took over majority of the time and silenced her. That and her thick accent made her feel self-conscious.

So smiling politely was her go-to. It was safe.

Glancing at the box beside her table, she tilted her head curiously. She almost had a mind to poke at it, but what if a moth or something scarier came out at her. No. She'll wait.

Miss Escalante's gesture was noticed and Feirgrund returned it with a simple nod and kind smile of his own.

“Good morning Professor. What’s with the boxes? We finishing the halloween decorations?” Because he was totally down for that. Not bothering to try and get them open, Hooper settled down in one of the desks near the back, not far away from Vera and waited patiently for the rest of the students so the lesson could begin.
"Good morning, Master Ridley-Rush." Halloween decorations, "Not quite, but there is something inside the boxes for everyone today."

Hope sauntered into Charms, not to early but not too late. "Hello, Professor Feirgrund," she said casually, still vaguely surprised to find him in Charms class every period. Then she took a seat in one of the back rows, behind fellow Ravenclaw, Alissa. She noticed the boxes right away, but felt it beneath her new dignity to take any notice of them (even though she secretly longed to know what was in them). She watched Lissa out of the corner of her eyes as she tried to open hers, figuring she might catch a peek inside it if her classmate was successful. Which she wasn't. So Hope put on an air of unconcern and pretended that she wasn't interested in her box. Not at all.

"Hello, Miss Archard," Feirgrund greeted.

Eventually, it came time for the lesson to began. Feirgrund checked out the door to confirm any other students on the way before closing the door.

"Good day, everyone," He addressed the class once the chatter died away. "It's nice to see the enthusiasm in a number of you. Today, we'll be learning the charm that makes heavy objects lighter in weight. The Feather-Light charm," Pausing to address the boxes, "Today you'll see what's inside the boxes after practicing. But first, can anyone share what sort of objects are too heavy for the average person to carry without the use of a wand?" There were no wrong answers or reactions here.. within reason.
