Emmeline needed to use the loo. Having held it all through Herbology class it was no wonder that she by the time she got to second floor was in desperate need to use the loo. The loud wailing coming from the Girl's Loo belonging to none other than Moaning Myrtle usually scared Emmie off, but today she didn't have the luxury to ignore it to go, and find another loo. When you had to go, you had to go it was as simple as that. Without thinking longer than a second or two about where she was Emmie pushed opened the door, to the girl's loo, and headed inside. She greeted to the other girl student present, and the pigtailed girl ghost too for that matter. "Hi Maisey! Hi Myrtle!" before sprinting into one of the unoccupied loos.

When she eventually came out again after washing her hands Emmie asked "Myrtle, why are you wailing today?" It could be a hundred reasons if she knew Myrtle. Maybe Peeves had constructed a new sad song?
