Maybe there was an extracurricular for working out like that health and wellness group that she could join? "I'm fine." Emmie repeated again with a weak smile, since it felt like Drake needed to be reassured that she was okay, but a had a tender shoulder.

"Dig a lot?" Emmie murmured in confusion. "You take extra herbology classes?" Was that even an extracurricular that they could take at school? It wasn't something that rang a bell, but Emmie didn't remember what all the extracurriculars were at school. Nodding she affirmed. "Yes, I'm Emmie. It's short for Emmeline." Drake found her jelly slugs, and brought them to her before she had a chance to look herself which saved her the trouble. "Thanks!" she murmured back as she accepted, and pocketed the slugs too. "Oh okay, that does sound sensible to count your coins before going to the trolley queue." Emmie had to admit. Shaking her head she admitted "No, I haven't got anywhere to sit yet. My brother dissapeared when we entered the train. He made it clear that he wanted to sit with anyone, but not me." That had hurt a little, but it was understandable.
The now second year had a lot of feelings the boy could generally not contain very well, and was quick to feeling even extra which was what was happening this moment. The guilt was a LOT. Even with the extra reassurance. But he could tell his guilt was also being a burden, so instead of letting it show any further he put on a steely face (as best he could) and buried it deep, deeeeeep down and instead just smiled. "Okay."

At the question, he nodded and his smile turned a bit brighter; a bit more genuine. "I don't take extra classes, but I do try to help out in the greenhouses as often as Professor DeVries allows!" He replied, not bothering to also mention all of the particular plants and the like they had at home too that he could work with. "It's nice to more formally make your acquaintance, Emmeline!" He said, leaving the circumstances unmentioned again lest he further burden. The information she provided about her brother was... confusing to him. Why would her brother not want to sit together??? As it was, Gilly and probably some of their other friends were currently holding a compartment so they could all sit together. It just seemed a given he and his sister would find each other at some point. Was that not normally the case? "Oh. Well... if you want to join us, my sister went to find a compartment. I think Bryony Paton is supposed to be joining us too." At the very least. He was hoping to stumble upon Ary too before they made it up to the castle, but he also did not want to infringe TOO much on the other boy's space when they'd have plenty of time to catch up that evening in their dormitory.

Not wanting to inconvenience anyone else, Drake also moved a bit forward to officially join the queue of students so that he could get his own snacks, but not too the point where his attention was too far off from her and the conversation they were having.
