She'd jumped up quickly, trying to save herself further embarrassment, but there was an ache in her right foot she couldn't quite ignore and a perpetually red tinge to her face.

Could the train just swallow her whole or something?

She tried to keep going to find a compartment she could sink into on her own, but the ankle just continued to feel worse so she was forced to stop somewhere around the middle of the train. Spotting one with only a single person inside, she went to push open the door before pausing at the note. Third years only? ... Well, she was a third year but she wasn't sure if that wasn't also just a note meant to scare of anyone. She nibbled at her lip for a minute trying to decide if she should risk it, before deciding she had no choice.

Pushing open the door, she glanced at the guy already sitting there - another third year she supposed - before stepping inside and sinking onto a seat. "Um... hi." She said shyly. She would have asked if she could sit but... she would have been in even more of a pickle if he said no.

Better to ask forgiveness than permission this time.
Jamie was reading up on the houses liking Gryffindor, and Slytherin best as the door to his compartment was pushed open to reveal a limping girl with a red tinge to her face. He watched in silence as she sank down on a seat near him. Jamie pushed himself up into a sitting position, putting his copy of Hogwarts a history down as he regarded the newcomer. "Hi," Jamie greeted with a small smile pursing his lips and eyes, before gesturing to the girls leg, and hurt face. "Are you all right? You look like someone who has been in an incident with something hard, like asfalt." Unless, well the possibilites were endless. She could have fallen or been attacked or, he didn't go there. It was his first day at a new school.

"I'm James, by the way. Transfer student from Durmstrang, and you are?" Hopefully the girl was entering third year so that he didn't have to kick her out when it was clear that her ankle was in bad shape. "Is it true that I have to get sorted into a house by some hundreds of years old hat with the whole school watching?" He asked nervously. He didn't want to make a fool out of himself on the first day so hopefully the girl wouldn't mind the pepper of questions.
