A friendly greeting would most certainly be the polite thing to do when entering an occupied carriage but Elias was not here to make friends nor did he care what a first year's opinion of him would be and therefore the deafening silence continued.
That was until she started crunching on some kind of muggle snack whose scent was offensively wafting under his nose. He shot her a cold hard stare as if to criticise her for making such a stupid decision. If the other carriages weren’t full of irritating students then he wouldn’t have to be here but alas a quiet first year was better than the alternative. At least he thought it would be. “Those smell revolting” he commented, nose in the air as if the oxygen at the top of the compartment would be cleaner. “Couldn’t you have chosen something normal like a Pumpkin Pasty?” His eyes glanced down to the words on the bag which he squinted at. He’d never heard of them which likely meant they were from the Muggle world.
