Text Cut: Ariana and Jess!

Five minutes. That's the amount of time it took for the compartment door to slide open and reveal---whoever this was. She side-eyed him with the one eye she'd bothered to open and watched as he stumbled back toward the door. Oh, come on. Socialization, although sometimes annoying, wasn't that terrifying, was it? She opened the other eye and sat up straighter.

Her eyes followed his pointed finger. Was...anyone...sitting there? Did it look like anybody was sitting there? From what she'd been told, even the Hogwarts ghosts were at least somewhat noticeable. Surely this was clear as crystal. Seeing as this was day one of year one of this seven year journey, though, she decided to shrug off those thoughts and shake her head no. "Just me," she replied.

Just as those sudden, unexpected events had unfolded, the door slid open again, and the sound of an overly-friendly voice shook its way through the compartment. Eliza stiffened a little but turned toward the source. How in the name of Merlin's polka-dotted underwear had she managed to attract every Hufflepuff within a certain distance? Okay, so to be fair, she had no clue what house these students were in, or even who they were for that matter.

Was the newest newcomer seriously asking if there was room for one more? Did any of these people see the emptiness of the seats around her? Then it occurred to her. What if...what if someone or something really was there, and it had been magicked enough to where she didn't even notice it? She gave a wide-eyed glance at the seats around her, eyeing them cautiously. "I...I think?" she replied. Nope. Have to sound more confident than that. "It's just me in here." Well, it was just her in there.
