Allie had been aware of the presence of another person near her, but since he didn't answer right away at her general question - she supposed she was in fact more so talking to herself. Which wasn't necessarily a bad thing, as she stared more and more at the menu. In fact, the pause had been so pregnant she'd nearly forgotten she'd asked anything to begin with, until a voice responded to her and her head slowly turned to look towards him.

It took her a second to remember the question, but once she did she quickly put a smile on her face - one of gratitude. "Desperately in need of coffee. I would take an IV drip of it, but I suppose a cappucino will suffice. Thank you for the suggestion!" From what she remembered, those weren't too terribly sweet. Much better than a latte at least. "The pastries DO look good... but I wonder if they have any breakfast sandwiches or something.." Muffins and tarts and the like also had the sweetness factor that she didn't often love to partake in. Besides, protein was a good way to start the day.

Following him in the queue, she glanced one more time at the menu to start calculating the coins she would need to retrieve from her bag, before her attention turned to him once more and she gave him a once over at the mention of finding her 'familiar'. The look might have been on the rude side, but she was just trying to remember herself. "I think I've seen you too! You go to Hogwarts right? We've probably been in a class together here or there. But I only transferred in last term so it's possible we haven't had a chance to interact." She offered a hand out in greeting towards him. "Nice to meet you, Dennis. I'm Alouette."
