~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes. Prompt #25: Ugly Sweater {200 words} “Are you goings to gets her an ugly sweater?” Ary asked Dynah as he jumped onto her bed. He liked watching his sister wrap presents. There was just something soothing about the way she meticulously cut, wrapped and taped the festive paper.
Dy cast a glance at the sweaters on her bed. “I don’t get why they’re called ‘ugly’. I don’t think there’s anything ugly about them.” “That doesn’t answers the question.” He plucked absently at his own ‘ugly’ sweater, bearing a hippogriff in a Santa outfit. “You, darling little brother, are nosy!” “That’s I am,’’ the first year replied, smiling sweetly.
That got him an eye roll and a grin before Dy went back to her presents. “No. I got Tam two tickets to the London Symphony Orchestra show next Easter.” “Hopings she’ll take you?” Ary asked slyly. “Maybe. Yes. I don’t know. It’s up to her to decide who she takes, isn’t it?” “Uh huh.” Aryan hopped off the bed. “You should just tells her you likes her and be done with it, scaredy cat.” He poked her in the thigh before making his escape. He wouldn’t count on Dy not to pay him back for his cheek.
