Frankly, Charlie didn't really see the point of coming back to school just to see the end of term. Dad's idea, but then Charlie hadn't been so against the idea that he'd actually tried to argue his point. So after a long, long period of illness, he was here. Actually, his dad had been dead set on never letting Charlie back to Hogwarts again, right up until it had been revealed that the thing that had most recently laid him low hadn't been anything to do with school, but some contaminated Ice Mice he'd ended up with way back in December. One of his cousins' idea of a funny joke, except the dolt had used some mysterious prank potion to do it, and almost ended up guilty of manslaughter or whatever. Idiot.
Charlie had been out of St Mungo's a few weeks before returning to school - in the tail end of a growth spurt, mind you, so that he was a fair bit taller, which only made him look more sickly, given he was still looking all frail and wan - just in time for end of year exams. Several months of absence, all told. He'd spent most of the time catching up on any of the drama he'd missed, but otherwise focused on showing that he could ace an exam even after a long absence.
Parking himself at the Gryffindor table, Charlie looked out over the Hall, focusing on each table in turn before checking out the staff table. Ultimately, though, he settled for sitting in silence, spinning his fork on the table, and listening out for anything interesting.
