 Ev <3 Which came first, the phoenix or the flame?
Ashley Fox had never been here before. It... she didn't feel that she belonged here. She felt like it was somehow her fault that so many people had lost their loved ones. Because she was the wrong blood status and- and- she talked too much. As a twelve-year-old. That wasn't how it worked, of course, but the feeling had partially remained.
But Ash had to come here eventually. Nine years, one book, and a lot of healing later. She came in a knee-length purple dress and she came with a bouquet of equally purple flowers to leave at the edge of the pond that surrounded the phoenix. But- but- Ash wasn't ready for that yet. She just couldn't find the courage to approach it or look the phoenix in the eye. So she sat down at the St. Mungos bench and took some deep breaths, fingers clenched tight around the bouquet. She could do this... She could do this... Maybe... |
