Though he did see that smile of hers from his peripheral, which was a relief, and welcomed her adjusting ever so slightly to get comfortable in the pocket of space that he was offering that didn't involve the two of them sitting shoulder to shoulder.
A nod of agreement was provided. Tarantallegra made a lot of sense to him too, but he wasn't so sure that was what was transpiring in the movie. Maybe the spell was somehow a source of inspiration? The blond really had no clue. As far as he could tell, everything seemed to be random and didn't need to be thought about so deeply. That was the point of movies, right? To simply watch and enjoy being taken to a different world for a few hours?
Her response to his comment stuck with him as the next scenes continued. He was sure that the girl beside him was just teasing, yet he couldn't help but assume there was some truth hidden behind those words. Actually, he didn't need to assume. Lately a few of their mutuals had told him that he was overthinking things. And there was no denying that he was doing such a thing as the furry beast, talking doors, confrontation with the Goblin King and Hoggle, and weird creatures with flaming red pelts happened. Had he not been lost in his own thoughts, he would have laughed when Sarah started tossing their heads.
"Vera..." his voice suddenly sounded after the group made their way across the stench bog, his brain instantly not capable of thinking of the next set of words to follow.
It was definitely true so much thought didn't need to be had about the movie, but at the same time because it was an assignment and she was trying really hard to actually care this year, she was perhaps going at it a little analytically. Or maybe that was just her most recent curse - overthinking everything, which she had definitely heard her twin tell her was the case once or twice. Though she'd probably heard she was thoughtless more often.
A curse they were both ailed with then it seemed, though Vera had no knowledge of outside commentary from their mutuals, though she would have agreed. But she also wasn't any better. It wasn't like she'd made an outright poignant move either. She hadn't told him anything about her own feelings either. The idea of rejection, despite others insistence it wouldn't be the case, was scary.
Not being plagued with that current line of thought however, Vera did laugh when heads started to be thrown. And as Hoggle appeared to save the day, she felt a bit of surprise - until of course it was revealed that was absolutely a betrayal. The whole story was suddenly very Snow White and she would have rolled her eyes if it weren't for the welcome distraction of her name. Turning her attention to him, her head tilted slightly in question.
"Yeah?"
