"It's either that or you have to outshine everyone so much that you can't not get noticed." She had a few connections, but just hadn't landed anything huge yet. Nevertheless, her competitive nature was still ablaze and she still had time having been officially in the business for only a few years.
The smirk did not go unnoticed, and at this point, having seen it appear often enough, she was under the assumption that meant there was a comment brewing in the woman's mind that would more than likely make her blush if it was said aloud. She braced herself (as best as she could anyway, considering the words that came out of Siofra's pretty lips were pretty unpredictable), only to be surprised that innocent talk of her sister continued. "Yeah, Jemma is great. She's older than me, so arguably more reliable than default," she told her with a laugh.
When the brother was spoken of, a simple nod of her head was given. She, despite the smile that was sent her way, was getting the vibe that perhaps sibling conversations were a topic for a different time. So she didn't press on with further questions about what happened a long time ago, though she had to admit that she was intrigued. "I know how that is," the brunette agreed, feeling she was a lone wolf when it came to navigating her little world of the performing arts yet still having her sister, Avery, and a few other friends to lean on outside of it.
Siofra's next comment and smirk brought back that flush to her face as they walked toward the door. There was no hiding that, but the dancer and barista carried on with keeping her composure despite the emotions. "Already making plans to see me again, hmm?" she asked with a smile as she walked through the door and stalled in the alley before the duo continued their trek. "How forward of you." Both sounded like it made sense. At least it wasn’t just about the connections, like a lot of different routes seemed to be. “Outshining everyone is something I imagine you can do, so I’m sure you’ll get your break.” She WAS gorgeous, so Shay imagined it was nigh impossible to not have your eye drawn to the girl when she was performing. Maybe that was something she could get a future ticket to from Avery - again, out of curiosity of course.
She loved being predictable - honestly. Knowing Julia was already anticipating what she might have been thinking would have brought her large amounts of amusement and pleasure. But it was fun to keep one on their toes too - mix things up by giving the occasional break from her flirtatious nature. With any luck, maybe the other girl would miss it or just spend more time later thinking about what it could have been. “Being the youngest is the best I imagine. By default, doesn’t that give you a pass to delegate some of the responsibility?” Perks of having been born second, right? Though that was just what she figured having observed the Sawyer’s. The youngest certainly had it made in that family.
While she didn’t mind terribly talking about her brother, it was still appreciated when people backed off. So Julia just got a return smile at her nod while the red head happily moved on to other topics.
At the mention of being forwarded, Shay threw her head back and laughed before regaining her composure quickly and giving a small shrug. “Ever notice how much time people waste with subtlety? Life’s too short to not be direct.” One of her mottos, as it were. “Is the idea of me seeing you again not welcomed?” She wasn’t a monster, if she was making the girl uncomfortable she could certainly back off. But she was taking the blush to her cheeks, present moment included, as a good sign.
