Tell Them I'm Trapped in an Oil Painting

Elizabeth’s sly eyes stole around the corridor. How delightful! There were three students whom those eyes seemed to x-ray such was the intensity of her gaze upon each. Elizabeth’s dislike for the more recent generation of witches and wizards had intensified. They were so rude. For example, this one (Emma) was prodding at her. “DESPICABLE!’’ Elizabeth bellowed. “Get your filthy hands away from me, you!” Shooing gestures were made to the girl but were then abruptly abandoned.

“EXCUSE YOU?” Elizabeth screeched at (Logan). “HOW DARE YOU, YOU NASTY LITTLE SEA URCHIN!” The lady drew raised her head haughty. “I’ll have you know that there were multiple witnesses to that strange occurrence!’’ She then rounded on (Desiree). “Yes, multiple witnesses! As in a few of my fellow portraits.”

Elizabeth took a great deep breath. “That mirror.” Her eyes closed dramatically as though silently praying for the strength to recount the story briefly. “Was donated by a family member of mine who sought it to be a token of gratitude for his years spent at Hogwarts. I rather think that he had ulterior motives as well. You see, it was donated shortly after another family member ran off on the eve of his wedding. The donation was possibly made to outshine the actions of that scandal. SUCH SHAME! Such shame the Burke family has never faced!” Elizabeth shook her fist at the students. “To this day Macarius’ actions continues to haunt us. I rather believe his good for nothing Muggleborn friend Ewart Milliphutt had something to do with him running off and never being heard from again!”
