That’s what happened when she bottled up her issues instead of talking it out with someone. She supposed she should have talked to the boys… the adult ones, that is, but she hadn’t and now Darius was getting annoyed with her it seemed. The way he threw those words about the way he saw things in her face left her momentarily stunned. It wasn’t long before that Aria was gathering herself again though, because of course, Darius’s words had done anything but comfort her.. “Sure,’’ she began, struggling to keep her voice even. “Not that it matters since you’re too busy wrapped up in your own life’s happenings right now.”

Aria was quite ready to leave at that moment, figuring it would be best to stop to grab a few of her belongings before stalking off to her dads’ place. She didn’t intend now to tell either Darius or Caes where she was going. Naturally, they would figure it out eventually but not before they panicked {hopefully} when they didn’t return home. It would serve them right! But it was Darius’ words that had her forgetting her train of thought.

Wait. Was he blaming this trip not turning out as delightful as he dreamed out on HER? Aria was quite prepared to fire up again. However, there was an apology, and the logical explanation about his poor time management lately, which definitely softened her a little. A LITTLE. “Don’t you patronise me, Darius Flynn Potter,” Aria replied crossly. “Being mad at you for not having as much time for me is a perfectly good reaction to the crime, kids or not.” There. Dar now had confirmation about what was bothering her.
Darius wasn't quite used to being in his feelings (as much) when around Aria. Everything just clicked when it came to how they communicated and got along. Though, the absent feeling and lack of expressing it, just so happened to also be something they shared. It took ages for him to admit his own feelings. Was it that bad that Aria did that too? Well, yes, but he couldn't explain why.

"Ouch, full name is serious.." As Darius reflected, maybe that's where Aria felt like she was pushed away. "You can be mad at me if you want.. as long as you remember I would never intentionally neglect you," He said. "... you think Caes is also as upset?" If there was anyone else who felt neglected. He sure had some making up to do. "So what's it going to take for this to not happen again? More share of my popcorn during movie nights?" It wasn't fun feeling neglected. With most people, Darius felt that was a personal feeling. But with who he considered family, that was something he didn't want to happen with.
