He would have to watch his words with this one. Perhaps he had been TOO aloof in potions. He didn’t appreciate her tone when she said ‘don’t do it again…’ because…well, what if he needed to do it again for whatever reason? He could hardly see the future, and maybe he’d need to ask her to get his supplies for a very innocent reason. “Well, since we’re able to get past this…can we talk about how unfair Professor Adara is? She took points from you, and I thought I was much ruder. I ignored most of the class to read my book.” Perhaps she had it out for poor Sloane. Adults could be that way sometimes. His mother was a prime example.
And a common enemy merged alliances, Roman found. So, he would talk about the common enemy and hopefully forge better terms with Sloane henceforth. Sloane actually rolled her eyes as he tried explain himself. He was such an idiot. “I guess it’s okay. I don’t like being told what to do. I guess you couldn’t have known that.” Her reluctance to ignore his stupidity had somewhat wilted. Most people deserved one chance to say something stupid and annoying to her. One was all they got however so he was on his last life.
It did help however that he’d brought up how unfairly she’d been treated by Professor Adara. For once, he was actually talking sense! Her posture relaxed ever so slightly as she replied, her expression easing as the words left her lips despite how annoyed she felt. “I know! I clearly didn’t deserve to lose any, like at all, and you just get away scot-free.” He’d clearlyignored her and yet she was the only one to lose points.
Not having a lesson for a little while, Sloane took a seat by the fire to warm up and sighed. “I’m not one for revenge,” which was a lie. “but I’d love to prank Professor Adara with some kind of potion.” She wasn’t sure if she could trust Roman, but she was about to find out. |
